Sexy Benches

Most of the time benches are just there. When you are taking a walk on your favorite trail, going to your favorite restaurant or strolling down main street. You probably have walked by more benches in your life without paying them any attention.

The great thing about life is that once in a while you get a surprised. Sometimes surprises are good and make you take notice. Furniture Leisure sells commercial benches all over the country. Most uses are pretty mundane such as bus stops, walking trails, city streets, dog parks, and theme parks. Normally you see a bench we have sold and keep on going without much thought.

However, we received this picture of a bench we sold to somewhere USA. Don't know where it is or who she is but it caused us to take notice. We thank her for a moment of fun. People make life interesting. Next time you see a bench take a pose and send us your interesting pictures to add to our post.

Styles of Park Benches

A park bench is a welcome sight along a walking path or trail. Park benches are just a nice place to rest. Think about the gardens, walking paths, bike paths, park trails and rest stops where these benches are used. Concrete, recycled plastic, resin, wood, plastic coated steel and aluminum materials are all commonly used for a good sturdy bench.

Many benches have black, green or brown frames to blend them in the to background scenery. Like many site amenities people take benches for granted expecting them to show up on the trail for rest and relaxation. I have seen log benches where a tree has been cut in half and creative molds at Disney with Mickey Mouse, or Goofy plastic benches at theme parks. Universal studios and Sea World have their own special benches.

You just can’t beat a good bench! Trail Benches, Park benches, theme park benches, garden benches, street benches, sports benches and church benches are as common as a hotdog on 4th of July!

Aluminum Patio Furniture

Furniture Leisure sells furniture made from aluminum. Aluminum is a metal that is perfect to make aluminum patio furniture. This furniture is used for decks, swimming pools, cafes and bistro furniture. References from Wikipedia say this about aluminum:
“Aluminium is remarkable for its ability to resist corrosion (due to the phenomenon of passivation) and its low density. Structural components made from aluminium and its alloys are vital to the aerospace industry and patio furniture industry and very important in other areas of transportation and building. Its reactive nature makes it useful as a catalyst or additive in chemical mixtures, including being used in ammonium nitrate explosives to enhance blast power.

Aluminium is a soft, durable, lightweight, malleable metal with appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surface roughness. Aluminium is nontoxic, nonmagnetic, and nonsparking. It is also insoluble in alcohol, though it can be soluble in water in certain forms. The yield strength of pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from 200 MPa to 600 MPa.[2] Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is ductile, and easily machined, cast, and extruded.

Corrosion resistance can be excellent due to a thin surface layer of aluminium oxide that forms when the metal is exposed to air, effectively preventing further oxidation. The strongest aluminium alloys are less corrosion resistant due to galvanic reactions with alloyed copper.[2] This corrosion resistance is also often greatly reduced when many aqueous salts are present however, particularly in the presence of dissimilar metals.”

Furniture made from aluminum makes ideal patio furniture as it is easily machined, non-corrosive, lightweight and strong. Home owners purchase patio sets for their back yards and outdoor patios to enjoy outdoor dining, poolside relaxation. Commercial pools located in communities, apartments, YMCA’s and municipal pools all use aluminum patio furniture for it’s comfort, value and beauty.

Cast aluminum furniture is another product used for its beauty and non-corrosive characteristics. Cast iron rusts in comparison to aluminum. Cafe’s, bistro’s and resort hotels use elegant styles that are reminiscent of victorian and traditional english garden furniture to provide a rich ambiance for their guests. Food and Beverage establishments are big business worldwide and aluminum patio furniture is a frequent choice for aluminum dining tables and chairs for patios.

What High Gas Prices mean for Parks

The jury is never in when there is change in the public dynamic. We use history to give us a clear picture of reality--but it's the past. Case in Point; in the 70's the country lived through gas rationing with lines at the pump. People envisioned all optimistic and pessimistic senarios--Except Hummers that run on 10 miles per gallon as a popular car. Today we have seen the price of gas skyrocket so fast we all are adjusting our lifestyle patterns and creating new thoughts about what activities will now make sense to us.

A major part of American life is recreation and leisure activities. High gas prices simply mean that people will choose to reduce their activities that require using gasoline. That trip across the country in an RV will change to picnics at parks close to home. If you live in Colorado people can visit Mesa Verde in the south, Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park, or Lake Granby for campsites complete with fire rings and picnic tables. North Carolina has many parks in the Blue Ridge mountains. South Dakota has the Black hills while New York has the Catskills. I could go on and on about the parks accessible to many Americans in every state. Many people have probably never experienced local parks because it has been so cheap to go other places in this country for years. Now is the time to explore parks and recreation close to home.

For myself, I live in Florida and I couldn't be happier with all the beautiful parks I can visit closeby. Just in my"neck of the woods" there are 24 parks to visit. That is just one fifth of what Florida has to offer. My wife and I have purchased scooters (Vespa's) to save gas going back and forth to work. We might just take our bikes to our next vacation--they cost $12.00 to fill up....beats the heck out of $70.00 for my Murano! Recreation close to home is looking pretty good!
