Handicap Friendly Picnic tables are available in many different styles and sizes. Some selections are round, square and rectangular for end access and side access. Usually a property will include at least one of these to comply with wheel chair access requirements. Federal, State and local guidelines may vary.
When planning your park, apartment and outdoor seating requirements it is best to check with local government agencies to determine what is required for compliance. General guidelines are: ADA (American with Disabilities Act) requirements are to provide knee space at the table at least 27 inches high, 30 inches wide, and 19 inches deep, and such that the height of the top of the table is between 28 inches and 34 inches above the ground.
